STORAGE EXPRESS ACQUIRES FACILITY IN COLUMBUS, OHIO
BLOOMINGTON, IN – Storage Express acquired Westbelt Storage in Columbus, Ohio. The 20,000 SF facility expands the company’s footprint in Columbus while complementing its current portfolio of properties across the Midwest.
Brett Hatcher of Marcus & Millichap represented both Buyer and Seller in the transaction.
“With room to double this one in size, its 1,500 feet of frontage along the I-270 beltway made this little deal an attractive pick-up opportunity.” said Jefferson Shreve, owner of Storage Express.
“Plus, I love working with Hatcher’s group,” Shreve continued. “They give small deals like this one the same attention they do the big ones.”
The company is giving the 135-unit facility an extensive face-lift. “We’re putting the shine on it and rebranding it to our portfolio standard — signature blue, HD cameras, access control, LED lighting, and a 24/7 Rental Center,” commented Shreve.
Convenience is a key component of operations at Storage Express. “Customers can call, text or jump online any hour to rent a unit, make a payment, or get answers,” added Shreve. “They can also manage their account at their fingertips — 24/7 and contact-free.”
Storage Express owns and operates 113 properties across Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Ohio. The company seeks new growth, and has four expansions underway in Indiana. Rentals are centralized out of the company’s Indiana headquarters with their in-house customer care team — a component of the Storage Express hub-and-spoke remote management platform. Local Field Service Reps are on the road daily keeping properties in tip-top shape.
